Together we run

Rotterdam running club

Free 5K every Sunday at 11:00.
Together we run.

LEVELS is a free running club in Rotterdam. We meet at Rotterdam Centraal, run 5K through the city, and get coffee after. Fast, slow, or first time out, everyone runs. Running is the excuse. Community is the reason.

Sunday mornings, Rotterdam.

What we are

A community that happens to run

LEVELS started with a simple idea. Get people together, move, and see what happens.

What happens is this. You show up on a Sunday morning at Rotterdam Centraal. You meet people you would never have met otherwise. You run 5K through the city. Somewhere around kilometre three, someone you met twenty minutes ago tells you to keep going, and you do.

No pressure. No expectations. Nobody is timing you and nobody is ranking you. We are built on energy, movement, inclusivity and good people, in that order.

Running is the excuse. Community is the reason.

The name is the point. Every level is welcome here, and no level is above another.

How a Sunday works

Five kilometres. One group. No sign up.

01

Where

Rotterdam Centraal. That is the meeting point every week. Come to the station and look for the group. If anything is unclear, ask in the WhatsApp group and someone will answer.

02

When

Every Sunday at 11:00. Come a few minutes early so we can start on time and you can say hi first.

03

The route

5 kilometres, and it changes every week. New streets, sometimes along the water, sometimes through the parks.

04

The pace

We split by pace and regroup along the way. Nobody gets dropped and nobody waits alone.

05

After

Coffee. Photos. Too much noise for eleven in the morning. This part is optional but it is the best bit.

Who it is for

Everyone. That is the foundation.

Run fast and you will find people to push. Run slow and you will find people to run beside. Never run 5K in your life and Sunday is a good day to start. Need to walk part of it? Walk it. The group regroups.

If pace is the thing holding you back, read how we work as a slow run club in Rotterdam.

Rotterdam is an international city and so are we. Some of the chat is in English, some in Dutch, and nobody minds which.

The vibe

Sundays Fundaze

The 5K takes about half an hour, give or take your pace. The coffee afterwards takes longer, and that is usually the best part. People swap stories, weekend plans, playlists, and terrible advice about shoes.

Some people come for the run. A lot of people come for what happens after it. You arrive not knowing anyone and you leave with plans.

New to running

Worried you will be the slowest?

You will not be on your own. There is no timing, no leaderboard, and the back of the group always has company. That is the whole point of running together.

Who started it

Jamal

@ali_forain

LEVELS started with one idea. Get people together, move, and see what happens. Jamal built it around the thing he keeps coming back to.

Anywhere there's people, there's power.

That is why the club is free, why there is no sign up, and why the slowest runner is never on their own out there.

Come run this Sunday

SUN11:00ROTTERDAM CENTRAAL

Bring running shoes, something to drink, and a few euros for the coffee after. That is the whole kit list.

Not sure about anything? Ask in the WhatsApp group.

Questions

Everything people ask before their first Sunday

01 Is LEVELS Run Club free to join?

Yes. LEVELS Run Club in Rotterdam is completely free. There is no membership, no monthly fee and no sign up cost. You show up on Sunday and you run with us. The only thing you might spend money on is the coffee afterwards.

02 Where and when do you meet?

Rotterdam Centraal, every Sunday at 11:00. That is the meeting point every week. The route changes each week, the meeting point does not. Come to the station and look for the group. If you cannot find us, ask in the WhatsApp group and someone will point you the right way.

03 Can I join if I have never run 5K before?

Yes, and beginners are a big part of why LEVELS exists. There is no minimum pace, no trial and no test. People run their first ever 5K with us regularly. If you need to slow down or walk a stretch, walk it. The group regroups.

04 Do I need to speak Dutch?

No. Rotterdam is an international city and LEVELS runs in English and Dutch. Most posts and chats are in English and there is always someone who speaks your language, or close enough to it.

05 Do I need to register or sign up first?

No registration. There is no form, no waiting list and nothing to book. Turn up at Rotterdam Centraal on Sunday at 11:00 and introduce yourself. If you would rather say hello first, join the WhatsApp group and we will look out for you.

06 What should I bring?

Running shoes, clothes you feel comfortable moving in, and something to drink if you like. Dress for Rotterdam weather, which can change in the time it takes to run 5K. Bring a few euros for the coffee afterwards.

07 How long does a session take?

The 5K itself takes about half an hour depending on your pace. Most people stay for coffee afterwards, so count on an hour and a half if you want the full Sunday.

08 What if I am slower than everyone else?

Then you run your pace and we run with you. There is no timing, no leaderboard and nobody gets dropped. The group splits by pace and regroups along the way, so the back of the group is never on its own.
